Livelihoods India was initiated in 2010 as a national level initiative to bring together diverse stakeholders on a single platform to discuss critical issues that impede and afflict the livelihoods of the poor. ACCESS Development Services set up this platform in order to understand and assess the key issues and challenges that the poor face in sustaining their livelihoods and microenterprises and also to craft a vision and strategy for moving them from subsistence to sustainable levels through cross learning and sharing of these unique experiences both successes and failures within the country.
Within Livelihoods India Platform, specific sub initiatives have been designed to make this platform an effective bridge for cross learning. As apart of this, ACCESS organises the Livelihoods India Summit each year, a national conference that targets about 500 delegates from the livelihoods sector including practitioners, policy makers, private sector, non-governmental organizations, donors, multilateral / bilateral organizations, academicians, researchers and other support organizations from within the country.
The Summit presents a unique experience for the participants from a diverse array of themes that are discussed in over 15 sessions across two days. Experiences, case studies, issues and challenges from within the country are shared at the Livelihoods India Summit and over 70 thought-leaders, policy makers and practitioners are a part of the two-day deliberations.
Now in its 14th year of execution, the Livelihoods India Summit organised by ACCESS on January 17-18, 2024 will foster deliberations on challenges faced by the poor to sustain their livelihoods. Wide ranging discussions will be held on themes, including discussions on inclusive value chains, technology infusion for livelihoods enhancement, women enterprises, climate change impact on livelihoods and other themes influencing the poor.
January 17th and 18th, 2024
