“Water water everywhere,
But not a drop to drink"
Have you merely read those words,
Or have you stopped to think?
The oceans rising, the globe’s warming,
There is no time to blink,
But your taps are open, and buckets flowing,
Can’t you see a link?
Droughts in Kerala, Floods in Rajasthan,
But you simply stand and wink,
You turn the page and wonder,
When the newspaper will be out of ink!
The oceans will flow over,
The land will all just shrink,
I'm warning you it'll happen,
It's already reached the brink.
The rivers don’t have water,
It can’t be true you think
The rain is going haywire
You’re surely going to stink
So today you can call me mad,
And say 'you’re a little kink'
But tomorrow you'll be saying,
"Please give me some water to drink?!"
Never drop a drop
If we drop the drops,
The drops will drop!
And if the drops drop
the crops will drop
To stop the drop in the crops
we have to crop wasted drops
and give our crops
a steady drip and a drop
So never drop a drop
Try to crop the drops
