Sustainable water supply and sanitation has become extremely important due to the increase in water scarcity, the impact of climate change and the need for adaptation, and the increasing demand in water and competition among different usages.
Nispana in association with CDD Society India successfully launched the 3rd National Summit Sustainable Water & Sanitation 2018 at the Sheraton Grande Hotel in Bengaluru yesterday. The two day summit was inaugurated by Sri. Eshwara Khandre - Honorable Minister of Municipal Administration in the presence of Sri. Anjum Parvez – Secretary, Urban Development Department, Dr. Sreedevi - Director Municipal Administration- Government of Telangana; Thiru Prakash Govindsamy – Director Municipal Administration, Government of Tamil Nadu and other distinguished guests and personalities. Municipal Commissioners, Mayors and senior officials from various states were part of this gathering.
The highlights of the day were presentations by Mr. Ravi Narayan – Chair, Asia Pacific Water Forum, Dr. Rajendra Singh also known as the waterman of India; Shri U .P. Singh – Mission Director, National Mission for Clean Ganga; Shri. Anjum Parvez – Secretary, Urban Development, Government of Karnataka in addition to other visionary presentations.
