The National Institute Ecology has currently more than 600 members drawn from every State and Union Territory of India as well as several other countries. The membership includes Fellows who are elected by the NIE every year in recognition of their significant contributions to their chosen field of ecology/environmental science.

Description:


The National Institute of Ecology will celebrate the World Wetlands Day 2012 by organising a Regional Seminar on Wetlands, Recreation and Ecotourism, in association with several Partners. The term Ecotourism is used preferably in view of its definition which states, “Ecotourism is responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and sustains the well-being of local people (International Ecotourism Society).

(It includes a day-trip to Panna National Park OR wetlands near Khajuraho; Seminar Kit, Lunch and Tea/Coffee during the seminar, but not the accommodation).
