The Indian Meteorological Society (IMS) is an Indian non profit organization that promotes the advancement, dissemination of knowledge, and the application of meteorology and related sciences. It was formed in 1956 during one of the sessions of Indian Science Congress in Calcutta.
Meteorology contributes immensely to the safety of life and property, protection of the environment and, thus, for the socio-economic development of the nations. Hence, ”Meteorology for Socio-economic Development” has been chosen as the special theme for TROPMET-2011.
Papers are invited on the following themes -
A soft copy of the abstract of the paper, indicating the theme and not exceeding 1000 words may be sent by email in MS Word format (Office 97 or higher) before October 31, 2011. Acceptance for both oral and poster presentations will be communicated through email by November 15, 2011.
Registration fee is to be sent along with the registration form through demand draft/pay order in favour of “Indian Meteorological Society, Hyderabad Chapter” payable at Hyderabad. There is no registration fee for Honorary Fellows and Fellows of the Society.
